Water can be a beautiful subject to photograph and holds a fascination for many landscape photographers. Lakes in particular seem to have a beauty all of their own. Whilst good light in the golden hours is often the best time to photograph them, still and cold conditions can also produce excellent images. Still conditions in particular can be very productive for the photographer as this will often give rise to wonderful reflections. But remember, the larger the lake, the less likely it is to produce calm conditions.
