Affinity Photo YouTube Tutorials
Today, I’m excited because my new series of Affinity Photo tutorials goes live on YouTube. Well actually, the first video goes live this week. I’m then publishing another video each week, for the next five weeks.
There are six tutorials in total that walk you through the key elements of using Affinity Photo. They don’t cover everything in detail, but they do provide a good introduction to using Affinity Photo. This is something that lots of people have been asking for, for some time. It’s also something that I have been promising to do for the past 12 months.
In the first of the Affinity Photo tutorials, we’re going to take an overview of the software. Often people become confused by Affinity Photo because many of its screens and tools change, depending on which of the personas you’re using. Oh yes, we’ll also make sense of those confusing terms like personas.
In the second Affinity Photo tutorial video, we will take a first look at the Affinity Develop persona.
I’m not going to tell you what the other Affinity video tutorials are yet. For that, you’re going to need to subscribe and watch my YouTube channel. I will though tell you that these tutorials build into a valuable resource for people who don’t feel confident using Affinity Photo. Later I will also be publishing my Affinity Photo book which covers using the software in much greater detail. I’ll be sharing more about that nearer the time.

Affinity Photo isn’t the easiest software to use if you’re not familiar with complex editing tools. This great series of tutorials should provide you with the building blocks required to understand more about the software.

Robin,
Until I read your recent newsletter, I wasn’t aware that you had created the videos on using Affinity Photo. Just finished watching them & found them most useful for refreshing my recollection about a number of its features. And as one of your followers who urged you to do an ebook covering its usage, I am most pleased to read that you are working on one now & that it will be available in the not too distant future. I’m also evaluating Capture One 12 with the free Express version that they have made available for Fuji users. I like what I am seeing so far, & may decide to use this free version as my raw converter & basic editor, turning to Affinity Photo for any work with layers & masks. But I also admit to being attracted by the apparent ease with which C1 allows working with these & may decide to buy the Fuji version down the road. Cheers,
Jed
Thanks Jed, I’m pleased you found them useful. I hope the book will be similarly useful once ready. I agree with your thoughts about Capture One. The free Fuji version appears excellent although I haven’t done any head to head tests yet.
